Star Wars Rebels shows how a small group of resistance fighters becomes part of a much larger rebellion. Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Ahsoka Tano and the Inquisitors are particularly important for lightsaber fans: their weapons represent different ways of dealing with the legacy of the Jedi. In this collection you will discover which lightsabers appear in Rebels, who are the well-known Jedi and dark opponents and which KenJo Sabers models match them.
What's Star Wars Rebels about?
At Lothal, young Ezra joins the crew of the Ghost. The group opposes the Empire and grows into a link in the Rebel Alliance. Kanan discovers Ezra's bond with the Force and decides to train him, although his own Jedi education was once violently interrupted. As their missions grow in scale, they face Inquisitors, Darth Vader and Thrawn. Rebels thus connects one crew's personal choices to the events leading up to the original film trilogy.
Which lightsaber does Ezra Bridger use in Rebels?
Ezra first builds a striking weapon with a blue blade and an integrated ability to fire stun shots. The form reflects his ingenuity and the life in which he has to survive. After that weapon is destroyed, he makes a new lightsaber with a green blade and a more conventional handle. Anyone looking for Ezra's lightsaber must first determine which stage of the series he means.
Blaster Blade is the Ezra Bridger-inspired lightsaber with the distinctive silhouette. The reference to the fictional blaster mechanism does not say that a collectible actually fires projectiles. For the functions of the physical version, always look at the product information. Ezra's later weapon and his new handle from Ahsoka are other designs.
Kanan Jarrus: the teacher who keeps learning
Kanan survived Order 66 as the young Caleb Dume. For years he hid his Jedi identity, including by not openly walking around with a lightsaber. When he began to train Ezra, he must also face his own unfinished past. His blue lightsaber can be taken apart, fitting to someone who had to keep his weapon hidden for a long time.
Commander is linked to Kanan Jarrus. In addition to Blaster Blade there is a clear teacher-pupil combination. Their handles differ greatly, so that the collection shows not only two character names, but also the difference between Kanan's hidden past and Ezra's self-built beginning.
Ahsoka Tano: white lightsabers outside the old Order
Ahsoka supports the resistance and carries two white lightsabers. She has left behind the Jedi Order, but continues to fight oppression. Her confrontation with Darth Vader makes her bond with Anakin painfully immediate again. View Katano for Ahsoka's curved, long and short hilt style. For her other designs there is also the Ahsoka lightsaber collection.
Maul, Vader and the Inquisitors: who is Sith?
Darth Vader is the Sith who personally threatens the resistance. The Grand Inquisitor and other Inquisitors are Jedi hunters, not separate Sith Lords. Maul has a Sith past, but in Rebels he fights his own battle and tries to pull Ezra to his side. These differences are important: a red blade does not make all these characters members of the same group for the same purpose.
For the Grand Inquisitor you will find Dark Twist, with a different hilt structure than a normal single blade lightsaber. Twilight and Zabrak Enforcer are linked to Maul. Compare their product details if you want to emphasize his later appearance instead of automatically choosing his Episode I weapon.
Sabine Wren and the Darksaber
Sabine is a Mandalorian warrior and artist. Her history with the Darksaber connects the crew to the fate of Mandalore. The weapon is not proof that she already has the same Jedi education in Rebels as Ezra. It symbolizes another tradition, in which leadership and division of Mandalorian clans are important.
For that Darksaber line you can see Dark One Revisited. The Sabine Wren helmet emphasizes her Mandalorian identity. Wrencher is also linked to Sabine, but belongs to her later story in terms of personal saber context; her character name alone does not make it the Darksaber.
Frequently asked questions about Rebels lightsabers
Why does Ezra's lightsaber change from blue to green?
He builds another weapon after his original lightsaber is lost. It's two different handles, not just a colour change of the same design.
Which helmets match the Rebels characters?
Alongside Sabine you can consider the Captain Rex helmet and Gar Saxon helmet. They complete the story without having to present them as Jedi.
Where does Ezra's lightsaber story go?
In the Ahsoka series collection his later story continues, together with Sabine, Ahsoka and new opponents.
