Kybro lightsaber: rotating crystal, OLED screen and Neopixel X3

A rotating kyber crystal, an integrated colour screen and Neopixel effects: on the Kybro lightsaber, not only the blade but the hilt itself comes to life. What can you actually do with these features?
Here you will discover how the crystal chamber and screen work, what you can adjust with the Bluetooth app, and what to consider for cosplay, display and active use.
How does the rotating kyber crystal work?
Inside the hilt is a visible crystal chamber with an illuminated decorative crystal. Its colour changes with the blade. You can use the app to choose whether the crystal spins or stays still. This makes the hilt interesting to look at even when it is not moving. The crystal is an electronic illuminated design element inspired by the fictional kyber crystals from Star Wars.
What does the OLED screen in the hilt show?
The Kybro has a full-colour mini OLED screen that can display an image associated with the selected soundfont. A soundfont is the saber's sound profile, including its hum, ignition and motion sounds. The screen adds a visual element to the sound profile and can be customised. See the latest manual for the correct operating instructions.
What can you adjust in the Xeno Configurator app?
The Kybro features Premium Neopixel X3 with Bluetooth control through the Xeno Configurator app. This soundboard lets you adjust blade colours, lighting effects and sound settings. For the Kybro specifically, the crystal can also be set to spin or remain still.
General X3 settings are separate from the special screen and crystal-chamber features. For pairing and operation, follow the current KenJo instructions. For more on soundfonts, Smooth Swing and blade styles, see our guide to lightsaber features.
Design: silver, black and red accents
Brushed silver-coloured metal runs across several parts of the hilt. Black sections create a distinct grip, while red rings visually divide the design. Additional metal plates add depth and a technical silhouette.
Long vertical emitter windows let light shine through. An extra emitter plate on one side creates an asymmetric profile that stands out even when the crystal and screen are switched off.
Dimensions and details: does the Kybro suit your needs?
The dimensions help you judge how the hilt might feel in your hand or sit on a display stand. Key specifications:
- Hilt length and width: 30.5 cm and 3.5 cm.
- Hilt weight: 383 g.
- Neopixel blade: approximately 90 cm long and 25 mm in diameter.
- Charging: USB-C, with the port above the button.
- Belt attachment: Covertech wheel, compatible with a suitable belt clip.
The Covertech wheel is the attachment point on the hilt; you also need a compatible clip to carry the saber on your belt.
The Kybro is suitable for light to normal duels. With its distinctive crystal chamber and integrated screen, it is especially appealing to collectors and fans of technology, cosplay and display. For intensive duelling, choose a model specifically intended for that use.
Why is the Kybro only available as Neopixel X3?
The Kybro has a special chassis for its rotating crystal chamber. That is why KenJo offers this model exclusively as Premium Neopixel X3, not Baselit. In a Neopixel blade, LEDs run along the blade, enabling animated ignition and different blade styles. A Baselit system illuminates the blade from the hilt. Read more in our Baselit versus Neopixel guide.
Cosplay, display and controlled action
For cosplay and display, the open crystal chamber is a visual highlight. With a compatible Covertech clip, you can wear the hilt on your belt; on a stand, you can angle the chamber and screen towards the viewer.
For spinning, the effects add another dimension, but grip and balance still matter. Start slowly with our beginner lightsaber-spinning tips.

What comes with the Kybro?
The Kybro comes in a sturdy KenJo box with the hilt, blade, charging cable, blade and spare screws, an Allen key and a manual. For Premium Neopixel, KenJo also lists a USB/microSD card reader. Check the “What's in the box” section on the product page for the exact contents of your chosen version.

How do you charge the Kybro?
It has a USB-C port above the button. Use the supplied cable and follow the manual's charging instructions. Our lightsaber care and charging guide has additional advice.

Yes. The hilt has a Covertech wheel, but you need a compatible Covertech belt clip to attach it to your belt. The built-in wheel and the separate clip are not the same part.
Can I change the blade colour?
Yes. Premium Neopixel X3 supports different blade colours and effects. Use the Xeno Configurator app to adjust the supported settings.
